# Glossary

The glossary provides definitions to the terms found in Yango for Business Help and the service itself.

    A method for inputing special characters with a keyboard in Windows operating systems. You can type a special character by pressing **Alt** and a sequence of numbers. For example, **Alt + 0169** types ©, the copyright symbol, **Alt + 0174** types ®, the registered trademark symbol, and **Alt + 0176** types °, the degree symbol.

    API (application programming interface) is a set of instructions and standards that different applications can use to communicate with each other.

    The [user](../manage/accesses.md#owner) who first confirmed the rights to the company profile in Yango for Business.

    A value from 1 to 5 calculated using scores and reviews left by Yango users. For more information, see [Business rating](../manage/rating.md).

    Multiple businesses belonging into a single group. If you have a chain, you can update information for multiple branches at the same time. You can also [upload a single logo](../branches/logo.md) for the entire chain and [add a price list](../branches/price.md) for all branches in the region.
    
    Click the active **All branches** link in the branch profile in Yango Maps to view all branches in the chain. For more information, see [Chain organizations](../branches/several-branches.md).

    The user who confirmed the rights to the entire chain or was assigned the Chain owner role.

    Information about the company displayed in the Yango for Business account. The company information displayed in the company profile in Yango Maps includes:
    
    - Company name.
    - Address and location.
    - Business category.
    - Business hours.

    This is both a company and a physical location (a residential complex or a construction site that one can visit).

    A file containing a list of data to be transmitted to Yango for Business. You can use it to transmit information about products, services, and chain branches.     The official legal name of a company or the full name of an individual entrepreneur. Specified in the **Details** section of the Yango for Business account when creating a profile. It isn't displayed anywhere if it doesn't match the [short](#short-name-def) name.

    Reviewing company materials prior to publication. For example, photos, videos, and price lists are moderated.

    Changing the company's address within one locality. If a company is moving to another city or changing its name or business category along with the address, these changes do not fall under the concept of moving — you'll need to [create a new profile](../add-company/add-org.md) in Yango for Business.

    {% cut "Multilingual attribute" %}
    
    An attribute in an XML file with values in several languages. For more information, see [Updating data via XML files](../branches/branches-xml.md).

    The company's [publications](../manage/publications.md) found in the **News** tab in Yango Maps. The most recent publications are displayed first.

    A [page](https://business.yango.com/notifications) in the Yango for Business account where you can subscribe to different messages from the service, including notifications about user changes in the company profile and statistics data.

    A company that operates only online, by phone, or using delivery. It doesn't have an office that customers can visit. To learn more, see [Information for online businesses](../online-company.md).

    A tab in the company profile in Yango Maps. It displays [basic information](../manage/edit.md) about the company: address, contact information, website, and location on the map.

    A placemark on the map with a photo of the object. The photo is selected automatically. PhotoPOI makes companies more visible on the map and helps Yango Maps users figure out what the place looks like fast.

    Cards with text and photos that you can use to share information about your company. For example, you can create a post to advertise an exhibit, explain the terms and conditions for a promotion, announce new arrivals, or show users directions to your location.     {% cut "Pre-moderation" %}
    
    The option allows you to accept or reject any changes proposed by users to your company profile in Yango Maps. Pre-moderation is available in the Yango for Business account under **Requests** → **Confirmation**.
    
    If you don't reject the changes in this section within three days, they are published automatically.
    
    After processing, the changes are recorded in the **Change history** section with the **Accepted** or **Rejected** status.

    A section in the company profile listing prices for products and services. You can add a price list in two formats:
    - As photos in the **About the business** → **Photos and videos** section.
    - As XLS/XLSX or YML in the **About the business** → **Products and services** section.

    A section in the Yango for Business account where you can add price lists with prices for products and services. For more information, see [Price list](../manage/price-list.md).

    The company's page in Yango that contains all the information about the company. You can find a profile by name or business category in Yango Maps. For example, the profile contains company data, photos, posts, and promotional materials.

    A special offer in the company profile. When the user clicks a promo announcement, they'll see a full description of the terms and duration of the promo.

    The role determines which actions users can perform in the Yango for Business account.
    
    You can set up [user roles](../manage/accesses.md) to manage information about the company, chain, or branches.

    The ![](../_assets/blue-icon.svg) icon next to the company name. The icon is displayed for businesses whose representatives regularly update the company profile.

    An image showing what the video is about. The user sees it before the video player starts. By default, videos are loaded with a cover image from a random frame. For more information, see [Change the video cover image](../manage/photos.md#add-video-cover).

    A text format file that represents data with certain identifiers and attributes. You can use it for chains with more than 30 branches. For more information, see [Updating data via XML files](../branches/branches-xml.md).

    The [service](https://business.yango.com/) helps entrepreneurs add their businesses to Yango Maps. Users don't need to install an application, as the solution is cloud-based.

    A user's [single account](https://passport.yango.com/pwl-yandex/auth/add) in Yango. Use it to log in to all Yango services.

    A [free service](https://maps.yango.com) where users can view a city map, find places, and plot routes there.
